The PADI Divemaster Course is your entry into the professional diving world. At Tabanka Divers you’ll train under German-managed standards, working closely with our instructors and team. The course develops your leadership skills, expands your dive knowledge, and prepares you to guide certified divers and assist instructors with student divers.

El Nido is the perfect environment to gain experience – from guiding fun divers at world-class reefs, to supporting PADI courses on board our comfortable dive boat. You’ll be part of our daily operations, building confidence and real skills needed for a diving career anywhere in the world. Please note: We don't offer "work-for-training" - this deal is exclusive for locals who work their way up.

Prerequisites

Minimum age: 18 years
Certified as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
Emergency First Response (EFR) primary & secondary care within last 24 months
While PADI Standards require a Minimum of 40 logged dives, we at Tabanka Divers request a minimum of 100 logged dives to start the training.
Completed PADI Medical Questionnaire signed by a physician within 12 months

Please note

This is a professional-level program requiring commitment and maturity.
Plan extra days in El Nido for weather delays, additional dives, or extended practice.
We strongly recommend personal travel and dive accident insurance.

Typical Flow

Self-Study with PADI eLearning before starting
Orientation – Meet your mentor, review goals, plan your internship.
Water skills & stamina tests – 400m swim, 800m snorkel, 100m tired diver tow, 15min float, equipment exchange.
Knowledge development – Dive theory, physics, physiology, environment, equipment, RDP/eRDPml.
Workshops & practicals – Mapping a dive site, search & recovery scenario, deep dive scenario.
Assisting instructors – Learn how to supervise students during PADI Open Water, Advanced, and Rescue courses.
Guiding dives – Gain hands-on experience leading certified divers at El Nido’s top dive sites.
Final assessment – Knowledge exams + practical evaluation by your instructor.
